Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the tax treatment of interest earned on the Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS). The consensus is that SCSS interest is not taxed under the capital gains head at all. Therefore, the distinction between Short Term Capital Gain (STCG) and Long Term Capital Gain (LTCG) is irrelevant for SCSS interest income.

Interest earned on SCSS is not taxable under the capital Gain head, therefore, question of LTG/STG does not arise.
OK Thanks
