Hi Rima,

If the holder of design is :-

1. Transfering temporaroly ( not parmanant ) the design or

2. Allowing the use or enjoyment of the design 

the service is taxable whether the said design is registred or not under the Design Act, 2000.

Secondly the basic exemption of 10 lacs is available to service provider but the registration is required if the turnover exceed Rs. 900000.
