Indian CA in Canada

Deal All,

I am a charetered accountant and has cleared my CISA exam.I moved to canada just one month back. I was in industry while in India.Though I am planning to do CGA and CPA , I started applying for jobs here .But I am not getting even a single response.I am not sure whether it is too early for me to find a job or do I need to find some other way rather than sitting at home and applying for jobs.

Any CA in this forum from Canada? If so can you please give your valuable suggestions as I am clueless.

hey mahalakshmi.....as u will successfully complete ur CGA n CPA...U have aleady got ur CISA....great job yaar....but since u r a CA guess u will not b allowed to practise in CANADA as a CA but can practise as a CPA/CGA....coz CPA n CGA----> governed by US laws....n US laws n CANADA laws are not tat different...one of my frnd also did the same...in ur case u will be beneficial by ur CPA CGA n CISA....ur CA from ICAI...will form a base of ur sucess in CANADA....but will no b able to practise/job as a CA.......

Hi Mahalakshmi,

I am an Indian CA and CISA , have similar exp as yours - Accounting, SOX and ERP. Hows your experience so far ? are Indian CA's recognised ? ru getting any response so far ? Could you please share ur mail id.. which city have you relocated.

Hi, I am a qualified CA & CMA from India and having 6.5 yrs experience. Presently I am working in Muscat Oman as an internal auditor. Now I am planning to move on to Canada. Is it possible to get a job based on the qualification I have or am I supposed to do the local course in Canada.

Please update if any knows. This is a bit urgent.
