On this National Youth Day, birth day of Swami Vivekanand, I like to share with you some of my concerns on mother India.
You might be remembering the derogatory comments by Australian radio jockey Kyle Sandilands a few months ago on India and river Ganga particularly. He called India "s**t hole" and the river Ganges a "junk yard". We all aroused to the situation and the renowned RJ had to apologise for his words. That is one side of the story.
But seeing these pictures I cannot blame him fully as we made him say for our negligence. Things are not that good. Industrialisation and Urbanisation has dumped a lot of local sewage into the river and unscientifc methods observed by the local bodies to preserve the stream made the things vulnerable.
