Incorrect TDS: Report previous income to new employer

TDS 343 views 3 replies

Hello

I switched jobs last year before 31st March. My previous employer used to deduct TDS and the new one will also.

Do I have to report my previous income to the new employer as I am skeptical he might have deducted extra TDS and the computation would have been wrong.

I read somewhere that incorrect TDS computation can force me to pay extra due to the interest while filing my ITR.

Any clarification about this please.

No need to report to previous employer.

Nothing wrong with giving information about your previous income to your new employer but  If you left your job before 31st march then why did the new employer deduct tds ?? You will have to show your income as well as tds while filling your itr, by chance if extra tds has been deducted, it will be refunded in your account. Nice using the word skeptical .....

Ais or 26as will give the details
