Can anybody tel me how is a ward or circle for submission of return decided in case of a person? I mean the basis on which it is determined? Is der special n seperate ward for central or state govt employees?

Income tax Ward/circle is allocated as per the address of the assessee as written in PAN card. It doesnt depend on whether the person is govt. employee or private sector employee. Regards.
R u sure? Coz this time in july wen i wnt 2 file return it ws indicated as stall for accepting govt employees return.There were 2 stalls. 1 for A-M n other for N-Z
Richa, I am really sorry for the incomplete info. You are right. There are seperate wards for private sector employees and for govt. employees.
THE ITO WARD/CIRCLE ARE CATEGORIZED ON THE BASIS OF THE 5TH ALBHABET/ CHARECTER OF YOUR PAN CARD NUMBER. SO ITS EASY TO SEARCH YOURSELF.
