Income tax offline rectification facility
Can anyone suggest on how to use income tax offline data correction facility for making corrections in filed income tax return.

Which section to select while revising data? as system is not allowing other than 139(1) and if I select this section then penalty is added into the return.
Revised return section is not 139(1) but 139(5)
Sir, I am aware about the section, the issue is that the income tax portal is not allowing under any other section (specifically under 139(5)). it's saying that you have selected a different section from the original return.
