195 views 1 replies
If a person who is a crew member of a FOREIGN BOUND SHIP has resided in India for more than 182 days(8 months), is the salary he received from the Foreign Bound Ship and credited in India taxable or not? He has no other income and the salary is just for a period of 4 months but more than the exemption limits. Kindly guide me.

Yes, he becomes ROR as per IT act, and his aggregate (including global) income is taxable in India, as per IT act, 1961.
