Income tax filing required in this case?
Hi,
My cousin has resigned job last March (2011) for personal reasons and has not taken any work (only using savings) until now.
Is she require to file IT this year? Please tell.

Yes, It is advisable to file IT returns even when there is nil income.
Thanking you for fast reply. Previous year when working she gets 'Form 16' from the company and then file using it.
Now how she can file? Where to get Form 16 from for file return?
Since there is no salary, there cannot be any form 16. But you can use bank interest earned as income under the head of other sources.

Filing IT return electronically is easy and a better option.
