INCOME TAX CLARRIFICATION

Team,

I would like a clarification on ITR filing. A SR. Central govt Pensioner ( Super Senior) is spending for his spouse expenses which  is incurred monthly on Medical attendant for his spouse. This is non medical expenses, but amount is spent on Medical attendant on a Monthly basis. Can such a person claim IT relief, if so under hat Section?

Quick Summary
This discussion seeks clarification regarding income tax relief for a super senior central government pensioner. The pensioner incurs monthly expenses for a medical attendant for their spouse, which are not direct medical costs. The consensus is that such expenses are not eligible for IT relief as there is no specific provision in the Income Tax Act for claiming deductions on these types of costs.

No. Not eligible.

There is no provision in Income tax law for such expenses incurred or paid.
