Hello Sir,

My question is if I am filling income tax return of a professional person whos total income is 20 lakhs + 18% GST = 23,60,000, then I have to calculate 50% tax on 20 lakhs or on 23.60 lakhs?

Thanks.

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies income tax calculation for professionals under Section 44ADA, specifically addressing whether the 50% presumptive tax deduction should be applied to the total income (including GST) or just the professional fees before GST. The consensus is that the 50% deduction applies to the income before GST, as GST collected is typically remitted to the government and not considered part of the professional's taxable income for this purpose.

GST COMES - AND GST GOES.   50% ON 20LK

Thank you for your reply.

Only GST comes.... He provide professional service and dont have any GST purchase but he charge GST on sale.

GST  should not be taken for calculating TDS as well as turnover.
