Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether a loss can arise after claiming an exemption under Section 54 of the Income Tax Act. The exemption is limited to the long-term capital gains (LTCG) from selling a house property. It's noted that some software solutions may inaccurately show a long-term capital loss after applying the Section 54 exemption, highlighting potential inaccuracies in such tools, particularly concerning capital gains calculations.
