Income tax
on income tax dept website when i log in with my PAN number it is showing due amount of Rs 12000 pending for assessment year 2008-09 .i had already deposited my self assessment tax in bank but there was an error while writing PAN number .instead of J it was written K.so amount was not credited.however my name was correct. How to correct this with IT deptt.

Quick Summary
Cannot do nothing , amount goes to wrong PAN , within 7 days of payment ,we can correct it , solution is pay the amount!
You can file request letter before IT Officer for PAN correction in challam . after correction of PAN in challam then you will get credit.
