Dear friends,

One of my client have a dry cleaning shop who doesnot maintain any books of account.

In the AY 2011-12 he filled his return US 44AD from a lawyer,  who showed his gross receipts 2537500

&  8% of this amount is Rs 203000 and showed tax payable in his income.

Whether  the return filled by the lawyer is correct because I have a confussion about the possibility of

service tax on his service of dry cleaning and his registration of service tax showing receipts exceeding rs 900000. And he told me his daily income approx. rs 500.

Please give me your valuable suggestions.

The return filed by the lawyer u/s 44AD is perfectly correct.

I am not able to understand that what link does your confusion about service tax have with Income Tax.

Dear Ruben Balooni,

My point is that when we shown his gross receipt more than rs 9 lakh then whether he is  liable for service tax registration or not.

Well he is certainly liable for registration if his aggregate value of taxable services exceed 900000.
