Income from property /claim of property tax

Received rent from April till July in the name of my mother and paid property tax for the same year in the month of June.

Unfortunately my mother expired and the property got transferred to my name and August onwards I am receiving the rent.

Need clarification on how to claim exemption of property tax paid for the year.
