Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether a loss can be claimed when municipal tax paid exceeds rent received for a house property. Participants suggest calculating the reasonable expected rent to determine the gross annual value, then deducting municipal taxes to arrive at the net annual value. This net amount can then be shown as a loss or carried forward for future tax benefits.
Compute reasonably expected rent ie Higher of fair rent and municipal value subject to standard rent, that would be your gross annual value and from that deduct municipal taxes therby you will arrive at net annual value
