Income from house property

If you're the owner of the property, then the rent will be included in your income even if the cheque for rent is received in your wife's name. 

The only thing you can do is to transfer the property to your wife for adequate consideration. Then the rent will be included in her income. Also please note that in case you transfer the property to your wife for INADEQUATE consideration, the rent thereon will be clubbed in your income.

Since you are the owner of property so rental income will be taxed in your hand. there is no matter that cheques are received in the name of wife.

and no any problem there if cheques are in the name of wife.

You have to bear the tax burden of rental income since the house is in your name. Even if you transfer the rental income to your wife without transferring the asset than also rent will be clubbed in your income. If you gift the same to your wife than also clubbing provisions will be applicable.
