Well there are diverse views on your question however the interviewer might consider as a foregone opportunity and take it as the 3rd one. Technically unless you file the exam form it is not to be counted as an attempt in my opinion. To conclude i would suggest you to dont think much and do whats best for you. Campus placements are not even a tiny percent of options available in the outside world. And generally companies that are fine with 2 attempts will always be fine with 4 attempts too , it makes no real difference. For companies or ca firms as well what would matter is your overall interview and knowledge rather than just those numbers.

all the best.

It will be considered as a 3rd attempt. Attempts are counted right from the beginning of your eligibility. For example, if you were eligible for NOV-2016 for the first time, then, it will be counted as the first attempt. And, all successive attempts will be considered when you apply for job.

Technically, an attempt may not be counted if u don't fill the exam form. But, practically the interviewers are smart enough not to be fooled by these things. Your attempt will be counted whether you sit for exams or not right from your first attempt.

But, don't worry much about attempts. Study conceptually to gain good knowledge of subjects. You will clear with good marks and it will also help in interviews.

When you go for jobs, a lot of things will matter like no. of attempts, your articleship experience, your body language, confidence over your knowledge. If you prepare well for job interviews, you may be selected ahead of someone clearing in lesser attempts than you. But, if you don't prepare well you may be rejected, even though you may be a RANK-HOLDER.
