Quick Summary
This discussion covers the process of surrendering an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) registration with the DGFT. It explains that the surrender is done via an online application. A user encountered a deficiency letter requesting an indemnity cum guarantee bond, attested by a notary, for any outstanding dues and liabilities. The thread also touches upon difficulties with website attachments during the process.

You can surrender you IEC code ,by filling online application along with required information and documents ,on DGFT web site ( Director General of Foreign Trade ) .

Hi,

I had raised an online request for Surrender of IEC on 07/10/2021.

Recently, I received a Deficiency Letter stating the following:

"You are requested to furnish indemnity cum guarantee bond duly attested by notary for dues and liabilities against IEC"

Can you please provide me with a format for the above-mentioned Bond and the value of stamp paper required, if any?

Awaiting a prompt reply on the query. Thanks in advance.
