I don't understand why ICAI and ICWAI are behaving in such an unprofessional way. At first ICAI objected the proposal of ICWAI for its name change (to ICMAI). Now ICWAI has went a step ahead and demands to drop the word "Chartered" from ICAI.
If it continues in this way, the stake holders (especially students and members) of ICAI & ICWAI will face dire consequences. So I think MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) has to interfere and sort out the issues between ICAI & ICWAI. It should also make an announcement that stringent actions (like levying heavy fine) will be taken against them if they do any such kind of stuff in the future.
I am a student of ICAI and I feel that ICAI is disreputing the profession of Chartered Accountancy and ICWAI disreputing the profession of Cost Accountancy.
Please give your views in this regard.
