Hsn code and other details is compulsory in gst return or not

Hi Everone...

i am filling GSTR 1 and GSTR 2 i want to know whether HSC code and other details like Rate, Qty etc is compulsory to show in GST return. my turnover is less than 50 lakh in full FY.

and i am liable to register in GST from july 2017 and onward earlier in sales tax act i am not liable to pay any indirect tax i also want to know whether what amount to show in GST Return in "Gross Turnover of the taxpayer in the previous Financial Year" and "Aggregate turnover April to June 2017" is it NIL or Actual turnover of precediung FY.

Dear Ankit,

you asking two points please listen carefully.
1. HSN code- yes its compulsary because GST is related with HSN code. so you have to prepare detail according to HSN code without hsn code gst return is not complete.

2. other detail like rates quantity is not compulasary. just show only taxable amount and tax amount.

for GSTR1 return please explain have you registered your company in sales tax department before GST or not.

my business in salling textiles cloth, previously Sales tax was not applicable on this type cloth so i am not liable to register in slaes tax. now under GST tax is applicable @ 5%. so what amount shoul i show in "Gross Turnover of the taxpayer in the previous Financial Year" and "Aggregate turnover April to June 2017" is it NIL or Actual turnover of precediung FY.

you just shown as a nil amount because your business is not registered last year and also not registered on this year first quarter. in that case this company is your new company and all business activities start from 1 july 2017.
