Last July i changed my job.
I got Rs 15,000/- as HRA (3 Months) in previous company. I got the Form 16 from then in which i was not given any tax benifit on HRA as i have not submitted the HRA Rent reciept.
In new Organisation i tried to give them HRA rent reciept for my Old company but they refuse to take it and said you please claim it during filling the return.
Now my query is:
Is it possible to claim the HRA tax benifit during filling the tax return?
Also how i can do Online Tax return efiiling while claiming HRA benifit?
Please guide me.

Dear Sir,
HRA exemption can be claimed while filing return of income in the cases where employer has refused to allow the exemption.
But high chances of not getting refund or getting intimation u/s 143(1) for additional tax payment (if any)
In first case on non receipt of refund - You will have to follow with ur assessing officer (after a lapse of sufficient time say year from the filing of return) and then u have to explain that ur employer had refused to allow the HRA exemption.
In the latter case i:e on receipt of Intimation u/s 143(1), you will be required to pay additional tax with in 30 days. Now within said 30 days u can explain ur circumstances(as above) to ur assessing officer.
