assessee is residing in rented house because of his employment and he owns a residential house
he has claimed exemption for rent paid u/s 10(13 A) and interest on housing loan for self occupied property. can it both be claimed
kindly give me an urgent reply

yeah the assessee can claim both the amount.........
interest can be claimed u/s 80C or income form house property as the case may be....

Hi Sowmya,
That Assesse can claim both deduction as:
HRA u/s 10(13)
&
Int. on housing loan also. own house is in the name of that assessee.
One more thing i want to share u that:
Principal amt of loan can claim u/s 80 C
&
int. on loan amt can claim u/s 24 b.
