Hii,

Can i ask you what your background is ie: what is your basic education?

Considering indirect tax plays the biggest role in tax laws in cs final you should pay most attention to excise and customs.

once you are done with that then wealth tax and international taxation.

This will help you cover 80 to 85 marks of the syllabus.

Guide books are a personal choice. I used scanners and my CA study material.

cheers

Hi vivek

Thanks for your reply, and congrats on clearing cs. I am B.com Background and i am really confused as to how i must start my tax law preparations.

Okies since you have done bcom i think you might have some general knowledge of tax and respective laws. I would advice you to start with the indirect tax segment. Try and complete 1 study of excise and customs in around 45 days. Then you can move to wealth tax and international taxation before finally revising the entire syllabus. Are u planning to join any classes or refer any guide books. shucita prakashan and reliance publications provide the best scanners to my knowledge. And sangeet kedia sir provides the best study material. I would guide you to purchase the sangeet kedia book on tax laws and also one of the 2 scanners which will give u plenty of practical sums and theory to reference. Thanks for the wishes. Hope this helps
Thanks Mr vivek. I am not planning to join any classes. Can you suggest any good book other than sangeet kedia for tax...especially customs and central excise.
