Im appearing for my Ipcc exams in may and i m doing both the groups together..i have started going for classes, but im worried about my preparation. Many ppl say that the institute material is not sufficient enough for the exam.I have started making notes as of the portions that they have completed, but i have not started preparing in detail-particularly in theory subjects like Auditing,Law,and Strategic Management, now how do i approach for these subjects?I can manage with Costing,Accounts, and Taxation but these theory subjects are what make me worry as they're more of detailed concepts,my idea is to get good conceptual clarity ,so am making my notes but how to prepare for the exam oriented learning ?what are the books other than the Icai study material useful for these subjects?

For theory, use books of padhuka publications blindly...ll help u to score decently in exams.for rest subjects, first read your class notes or any reference book and make notes of each concepts and sums after which start revising each chapter using scanners..(P.S. make sure that u have worked out/ studied the questions from scanner of past 12 yrs atleast twice before u go for exams)

hi friends i am also IPCC may 2010 student and worried abt my preparation plz sugges me and i have read padhuka and felt that it is jst summary of material and nothing more for conceptual clarity i want to make my concepts strong but which book is helpful for that plz tell me moreover  plz suggest how to prepare for IPCC thanx in advance

When it comes to exams it depends on smart study only and not on concept clarity....even Mr. Saravanna Prasath(the author of padhukas publications and AIR 1 holder in his final exams) used to quote in his class " Remembering is more important than understanding"..so as a student u focus on how to score marks and clear the CA exams...you ll get knowledge when u work during ur articleship and after finishing CA(either in a CA firm or Company)

hi frnd you have told that remembaring is required bt without understand any particular topic it is difficult to cram that topic so i think concept is more important and as far as i know ca is not cramming course if you dont know abt concept then nothing is in your favour.

hi buddy i didnt suggest u to cram the entire ca syllabus cos i also know it is difficult but i am suggesting u to study things from exam oriented way when it comes to scoring marks...in exams they evaluate on how u present in the paper...remembering must not be confused with cramming of course...but what i mean by remembering is that when it comes to auditing, law and infotech, you should remember the main points in each areas( in practical questions you need to quote the main points from the applicable section/case law/standards on auditing  and when it comes to sums, particularly in costing u can encounter such that certain sums are quite a bit different i.e you have to use the concepts in  a different technique from the normal technique used to solve other problems in that topic. so in that case you need to remember the different technique used for solving that type of problems so that in exams when they question u from that method, you can do well......All the Best

hey my junior..i can guide u in law.If u think u re ultimately zero (sorry..cudn't find suitable word) in law, go in for K.S.Anantharaman's book for PCC.  The most crisp book with only provisions in short format.  don waste time in case laws but try to remember sections.  This might fetch u addl marks (depends on the "expert " valuing the paper).  For ITSM, it is ur fate to study the pathetically pathetic ICAI material.  But for SM, u can try SM material of CS professional course.  My junior is using my CS prof course book and he finds it more easy n clear.  For auditing go for tapan jindal or padhuka as both  cover the syllabus with latter laying further stress on presentation aspects too.  Don be worried.  PCC does not deserve more than 1 mth preparation (this is my opinion).  ANOTHER SUGGESTION for law would be that, if possible, try to go thru ICSI's guideline answers to note the difference in presentation and use of words..the latter would fly high with a big margin than ICAI's

btw, i don know hw many ppl know KSA's book n also hw many wud suggest!   But u have 2 digest certain unknown things too...
