Hi, I received a notice in the form of a letter informing me to pay 130 rupees u/s234 a , for late filing. Can i pay it thro bank. The bank is effecting payment only thro regular deposit chalan.
Can i pay directly at the Tax Office? pl advise

Take a print out and pay cash in Bank under interest -head 400 after assesment.
Take challan 280 and fill relevant Ay as per notice and pay the amount in bank
Hi,karrdatta Thank you very much. I could take a printout of chalan 280. Do i need to inform the IT dept about the payment or is enough if i pay the amount, to the bank. My question may be basic, but the answer it would get, would definitely help so many. When i approached the bank, they asked me to pay thro normal chalan, where there is no place for filling pan no etc,,etc as in the chalan. The cashier would not accept, as it does not have enough detail. Now, i will take a print out and then pay thro bank.
Cant the IT send a chalan copy while sending the notice for easy payment of any dues to it. ?. Your reply
