How to open ITR U

Sir I am an accountant and want to know how to file/open the ITR U to file the return for the asstt year 2021-22.Please guide me.

Select 139(8A) updated Returns after selecting AY,-2021-22

login to e filing and click on file income return

You need to file ITR-U same as other ITR only Sec 139(8A) to be selected in place of 139(1) / 139(5).

If it is online then if you select AY-2021-22 then you have only three options

92CD Modified return
119(2)(b) return after condonation
139(8A) updated return

So select 3rd from the drop down list

I feel you have not checked it online.. Using software utilities makes people blind on how the online filing works on IT Portal
