Details of banks account is required for income tax for any refunds and for correspondance. So only one bank account is enough for which you would like to maintain in future (long). NO NEED MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT.......

it dept never do any investigation on ur bank account,..that it doesnt mean that u have to give only salary account in itr

it is just made as mandatory record, to be filled by assesse

u an give any one of ur bank account, and mention micr code of respective bank branch, and also the type of account(s.b/c,a)..thats it no other information needed regarding bank details for itr filing

Just mention one of the bank accounts which has to be maintained by you.

It will suffice

As you wrote you r working in two companies that means u have to file ITR 1.
and in ITR 1 you have to mention your account no. & MICR Code that u mention either of the Bank,

thats not required to mention the details of all the banks accounts u having.....

2 BANK ACCOUNTS IN ITR

A member of our club enquired that he has 2 bank accounts. How can he mention both in his ITR ?

For his information, in the ITR, only 1 bank account details (Bank a/c no. & MICR code) is to be mentioned to facilitate electronic transfer of refunds, if any, into this a/c. This is the only purpose of asking for bank account details, and nothing else.

Refunds, if any will be credited directly into this bank account. Use the facility of getting direct credit into your bank account and not cheque to be mailed to you because by the time the cheque is mailed to you, you might have changed your address and the cheque goes back undelivered.

for the purpose of refund etc you need to menition any one account only. But if you are earning substantial interest on any deposit account in any bank you have to disclose the interest income along with the bank account no. under "other sources of income" or atleast keep the details ready if the ITO wants! even though it may not be necessary to dislose in the IT returns!
