Dear Sirs,

My friend used to get his Income Tax Return submitted through e-filing mode by one Tax Consultant. The Tax Consultant is now black mailing him. In order to get rid of him, he sent a mail to " validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in" asking for new/reset Password. The Income Tax Deptt. says that since my friend's e-mail ID is not registered with them, they cann not send the new Password.

Please advise any other mode to get new Password for my friend.

if u have the bank a/c no. provided in the return and IT Acknowledgement no. then use this for reset your password.

Give your PAN in user ID

Incase if you want to efile return, you may use taxcloudindia.com . It doesnt requies password to file return

Agree with Shivendra.. You can file return buy logging on to taxcloudindia.com. And after filling return you can reset your password using the acknowledgement number generated by tax cloud.

Really I was surprised how Income tax dept. allows filing returns without any passwords; however it helps to us, here we don’t need Assesse password to file income tax return.[I don’t think this is fair to give access to file returns without password, income tax dept. may restrict the same in future in my opinion]

Generally once you registered and started browsing tax cloud India website you can understand how to file ITR by going to link given in point 5.
