I am a Bachelor Of Management Student and i'am planning to appear for CA CPT Dec. 2012,
I have no real idea about when to start my Sudies for CPT.
With ample of Data available online/offline to study from, I am still in doubt about where to start from.
Is coaching a neccesity to hold a rank at CPT???
With many doubts making rounds in my head, I hope you'll will answer genuinely. :)

You should first start with economics, then go for accounts, law and Maths respectively
.
Economics- This subject depends totally on interest factor, so develop a liking towards this subject
.
Accounts- Its very easy, If you havent studied accounts earliar, I will advice you to buy P.C tulsians book
.
Law- The book is very small, but questions can get tricky...MCQs behind every chapter should be at the tip of your finger
.
Maths- It all depends on you, if you are good in maths, well and good,..if not you should at least study the mathematics part of it if not statisitics
.
I was 10+2(PCM) student, still managed to crack it with very less study.

As far as rank is concerned, it is more difficult to get a rank in CPT then later stages of CA course because portion is very easy and candidates are more. In other stages rank depends on hard work you put in.

For Cracking CPT, more then confident , control of over confident is required..Just dont get carried away by those thin books

i am doing my second year B.com ... I am thinkin to write cpt this year... but is there a possibility to write cpt online??

hi kushal,CPT is very easy,jst b thru wid study mat of institute,u dont need any reference bk,and coaching is not at all reqd bt it depends on hw regular u r wid ur studies,i cracked it only wid 1 month of diligent studying and there r quiet a few examples who cracked it by studying even for a lesser tenure,there has to b quality in studying and not quantity.study hard as well as smart,cover whole study mat 3-4 times and u'll definitely get thru.all the best
