How to avoid sleep in afternoon?

Hi All,

During study holidays,I want to avoid sleep in put in extra hours in the afternoon,especially after lunch.

Please advice me some methods to avoid sleep please.

No jokes please! Im serious.

Some say light lunch or drinking tea/coffee or splashing water on face.

But I need some more tips.

 priya simple way to avoid sleep in after noons is take any practical oriented subjects like accounts,costing,direct taxes and when ever u feel like sleeping walk for some time

My suggestion is dont change your habit during exams... If u have sleeping habit in afternoon, take a small sleep & then study...What counts is How u read & not how much u read..

I agree with Shashank...Another thing which I usually do to avoid afternoon nap is put on some good peepy music and shake my leg for 10mins or so...that works for me

 Hey Priya even i faced the same prob..for me afternoons were the most unfruitful time where i needed more time than anyotr time of the day...So u can either take up ur best or fav subject during that time or what i did was i slept during that time and made up for those hours by sitting late at night....But don make sleeping a habit dear.. simply cos ICAI is smart engh to put the exams during the same boring hours...so u ll feel sleepy then

Close your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes meanwhle concentrate on your breathing. Listen some medidation music.

People are slave of their habits.  If u really dont want to sleep in afternoon do anything which is enjoing for u firstly. After some days it will become ur habit then easily u can divert ur mind to studies at afternoon. Do it once...

Priya,

If u want to avoid sleeping after lunch to avoid da effects in exam days, then i wanna say that

1. just follow the idea's jingle : Walk n Talk (Walk n Read loudly)

2. Spend time in ur favourite activity.. (as u already not studying presently at lunch time so its not the matter of wasting time n after some time wenever u feel that u left the sleeping habbit den start studying that time)

3. Take complete n enough sleep at night (7hrs)

4. If u feel too much sleepy then just head down on the study table n take rest for some time. dnt go on bed.

5. if possible then keep ur study table n bed in seperate room.

6. Computer is the best fren in this era. so just this time wid PC. It won't let u sleep.(even u can read in softcopy too).

7. aur agar koi chhota bhai ho to oose kahna ki wo saath me padhe tumhare n agar tumhe nind aaye to wo tumhaari naak khiche..

8. agar mujhe koi aur trick soojha to i'll let u know..

Thankyou everyone for the replies.

I got many ideas reading your replies.

Im going to implement many of them.Come what may I have to read in afternoon and make it my peak period of success/energy every day.

This is because,the exams are set in afternoonish mainly and if my brain is in sleep-mode then,Im doomed! So, I think I will first start listening to some music and walk in a nearby park for sometime,splash my face with cold water,eat light food(we punjabis eat real heavy food!),drink soem herbal tea,etc

Then slowly Im going to study problemoriented subjects like Accounting or Costing.Maybe around 5:30pm or so,I can have a half-hour nap,just to feel refreshed.This way Im in synch with exam-time...

Im sorry for stupid questions but it is in these small details that success lies...i will get the answer and stop beign stupid than fear even asking and remaining stupid for life!hahahaha!

IF U FEEL SLEEPY at afteroon.. just think seriously about those 3 hours ( exams hours) which are the most valuable hours of your life as a ca student.. and i am damn sure ki uske baad aapki neend ud jayegi.... 

 

no one cares that how much efforts u did for ur preparation.. but everyone cares for result of those 3 hours...

so put your maximum efforts to make these 3 hours pleasant .. and than definetly u will found urself on top of the world...

2nd thing.. set ur target for every day.. dont count ur study hours...just keep focus on ur target..

Quantity  doesnot make any difference in this field ... the thing matters the most is quality of ur study...

so always remember .. u r studying for yourself ..not for anyone else...

what is the timing for ca final old syllabus exams? I mean when will be the exam timings normally for ca final old syllabus..they change thigns so much that im confused...is it in afternoon ?

hi, if u are sleeping you should choose practical subjects. u try to built on yourself a pressure that as much as u r slleping u r loosing simultaneously ............and make up ur mind bcoz it is also guided by mind............-

hi priya. take a light lunch in afternoon and dont drink the tea and coffee bcoz it contains nicotine and caffine which is not good for health take the juice like orange juice. listen the music to keep ur mind fresh.
