Hi,
I have created a stock item say "X" and put opening balance of "1000" qty. on 1st January.
Now we have got the same stock again about 500 qty and we want to add this 500 to that 1000 so that it can show "1500" quantity for "X" item.
I wonder how to do it? If I open "X" item now it shows just 1000 qty as an opening balance along with the date 1st January.
Any help would he highly appreciable. I'm using 7.2 version.

if u hve purchase the 500 units u hve to do purchase entry by incresing 500 units, just do purchase entry it is simple .. go on purchase vocuher and select the item of purchase do entry,
But here all vouchers are dimmed(I mean disabled). Im not able to use those vouchers. Only "Stock Journal" and "Physical Stock" vouchers are working. Others are not working. Can you tell me please how to activate the other vouchers "Purchase order" "Receipt Voucher" etc."?

Kundan Singh, Thanks.
Yes I understood it...but we are not purchasing any items...it is manufactured by ourselves and we want to add these 500 items to that initial opening balance 1000 items of X product.
Anyway, for a try, I just even tried "purchasing order" and added 500 quantity with fake party name, it doesn't add this 500 to that 1000 at all. Purchase order items have to do nothing with the stock items...it seems....

Bill of Materials
A Bill of Materials contains a list of items that make up another item. In other words, it is a list of constituent items.
Enable bill of materials facility
This is relevant for manufacturing organisations and can be set up through configuration.
Gateway of Tally > F12:Configure > Accts/Inventory Info
A Bill of Material should be available while manufacturing an item. Hence, first enable manufacturing entries. This is done through a stock journal. It is wise to create a new voucher type, say, Mfg Journal which is based on Stock Journal.
Stock journal as Manufacturing Journal
Stock journal vouchers have a question 'Use as a Manufacturing Journal'.
Gateway of Tally > Accts.Info > Voucher Type > Display > Stock Journal
When you use a stock journal as a manufacturing journal, the stock journal voucher entry screen would then be modified to accept name and quantity of the product being manufactured, its list of components and additional costs of manufacture associated with it. If, for an end-product item, you have specified a bill of material that contains the list of components, this list is brought up automatically and filled in for the quantity of the end product.
then
How to create a new Manufacturing Journal
Gateway of Tally > Accts.Info > Voucher Type > Create
How to create a Bill of Material
The stock journal/manufacturing journal entry screen
Gateway of Tally > Voucher Entry > Click on Stk. Jrnl
If you had created a new voucher type Mfg Journal, a pop-up menu will show both the default Stock Journal and the Mfg. Journal.
