How Much Time to Pay Penalty for GSTR-10 Late Filing?

Today, I came to know that I have Rs.10,000 penalty for not filing GSTR-10 after cancelling GST number as I wasn't aware of it. I called help center to know how much time I have to pay Rs.10,000, but they only answered "as soon as possible".

Can anyone tell me if i can pay the fine in installments in next 6 months or so?

No .... you cannot pay in installments.

As per Section 45 of CGST you are required to file GSTR 10 within 3months from the date of cancellation order.
and as per Section 47 of CGST Act late fee for the is 200/- per day (Both the act) or maximum 10000/-(for both the Act) is applicable.
