How much time it takes for "pre validation" of bank account?

Hi I am waiting for refund . Last week, i get message that refund failed because pre validation of bank account wasnt there. So, i went ahead and did try to pre validate. I am seeing message there "request submitted". I filled it on monday this week. How much time it takes for pre validation to get done?

My PAN is attached to my bank account. So, thats no issue.

I have same issue. My Refund issued is failed due to PAN not linked with bank account. I have raised refund reissue request with another bank account details, but this also got rejected . How to get refund. Please help if anyone had this issue. Thank you!

Same happened in the case of my spouse. Refund failed for name doesnot match with bank records. But PAN has already been linked with Bank account.

Prevalidation is still pending with Bank as per income tax site. There is no provision to cancel this request. As long as this is pending there, there is no chance to place a fresh validation request changing the credentials. If any one have resolved this type of issue, please come up.

I submitted my pre-validation request like 4 days ago, for Citibank, it's not yet pre-validated. I chose this because Citibank doesn't appear in the net banking list. If you have any Indian bank, like me (SBI), choose the option of doing internet banking with it. (I hope your internet banking is enabled). Once you e-verify (since at this stage my e-filing was done), using the net banking, your account will immediately get pre-validated.

So, this is my experience and how I solved the problem for myself in my situation. Hope it helps somebody.

Hi During the itr filing i have fillled in my axis bank account as refund account but have not pre-validate it till then. Now when i have done that, it has been in service request stage since ages. However my another account ( sbi) gets validated instantly. So is there a possibility of getting my refund in my sbi account rather than that axis bank? Secondly how long the income tax dept wil wait till the refund issue failed message pops up? Consider it was processed on 15/08/19 and intimation 143 (1) recieved on 02/09/2019. Thanks in advance

You can change the bank particulars for refund of excess amount, by login to your IT account, and submitting the change in ITR particulars for refund credits (to your SBI acc.).

It may take about 10-12 days for refund credits, it that account is prevalidated.

Mitro, Same problem here.. You can’t believe that till today 29.11.2019, My A.Y. 2019-20 refund is credited but My A.Y. 2018-19 refund is still pending.. They said for A.Y. 2018-19 ke your PAN not linked to the Bank Account, PAN details mismatch, Name in PAN is different then Bank Account etc etc... And in this same issue they credited A.Y. 2019-20 refund before that.. Don’t know how this system is running..??? Then they said ke now do refund request, i did and its accepted but now they again send me same problem and said to do refund re request but now they can’t allow to do this again.. And for this i had changed my aadhar card details then my pan card and then my bank details as per pan & aadhar card then after i changed all in IT portal but still it said that same error and sending me email again about Data mismatch in bank and pan data, And not giving me refund..

This issue could be due to the fact that your Bank is not integrated with the E-filing system. I have a similar issue with Axis Bank.This was the information that I had received when I inquired on the E-filing help-desk number (18001030025).

I am NRI ..My bank has Not India Mobile Number but Over Seas Number

It was not accepted in IT site.

I raise Grevience. got corrected for Bank still same problem with Demat. Not accepting. Overseas Number.

Check yourself it ask 10 digit number linked with Bank but mine is 8 Digit number linked with Demat ID ..So not accepted

Bank.I prevelidate on Thursday evening.

Today Monday

Till now not clear

When do I expect it to get through

HI,

I chose wrongly my kotak acct which is not pre-validated at the time of filing tax for AY 20-21 and now refund is not coming. It shows pending validation from last 3 months. Do any one have any idea how long it takes to complete this validation ? I have HDFC acct linked there too already validated on 2016 but took 1 year to validate. Who is actually validating this bank acct ?

I think the process of pre-validation of bank account is made complex and failure prone. So that most will fail and then IT gets to keep the money with themselves.

Many of my requests raised 3 months ago are still pending. I have no chance of getting my refund this year.
