House rent allowance - query
Dear all,
Can HRA be claimed as exemption for staying in let out property even though i have my own self occupied property?
Do effect of exemption of HRA change if SOP is in another city?
Do effect of exemption change if SOP is occupied or else vacant?

you can claim hra as exempt because you are payng rent. the effect of hra will not change if sop is situated in other city. if sop is vacant then there is no change but if it is rented u hav to offer the rent income in ifhp
