Individual paid 3,00,000/- interest on self occupied property, max allowed 2 lakh what abt remaining? Can c/f for next year?

in case of self occupied property amount in excess of rs. 2 lakh not to be carry forward. But in cáse of letout property loss can be c/ f in excess of Rs. 2 lakh
