Holding period Capital Asset

Dear Members

For calculating 36 months period for long capital asset, Is it calculated on days basis or month basis. Example asset purchased on 21st March 2008 and assesse wants to sold it on 22nd march 2011. Is it long capital gain or short term capital gain.

LTCG is calculated on days basis….
