Dear All,

Himachal Pradesh VAT dept increased vat rates from 4% to 5% w e f 29th March 2010. Can anybody provide the notification for the same.

Hi Subramanya,

I am also seeking this amendment. I tried to contact the concerned department but It will take time to publish such notification but it has increased from 4% to 5% that is for sure and from 29 th March 2010.

please note that, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has introduced to levy of Entry Tax on the following goods with effect from 07-April-2010, whoever imports these goods from other states to Himachal Pradesh.

SCHEDULE-II
[See sections 2 and 3]

Diesel, furnace oil and lubricants 7%

Explosives 5%

Iron and Steel 4%

Cement 5%

Goods used in works contracts, including hydropower and thermal power projects generation, transmission and distributions projects, telecommunications and all other turnkey projects being executed by private as well as Govt. Department / Corporations / Board etc. in the State 5%

Pan Masala and Gutka containing tobacco 4%

Cigars, Cheroots, Cigarettes including un-manufactured tobacco and tobacco, tobacco refuse and other manufactured tobacco products, including Bidies and Gudaka 4%
