Help needed for receiveing tax refunds

Hello,

I have been filing my tax returns by myself for the last 3 years. But till date I haven’t received my refunds. With all my returns I have filed the form 30 also. what is the next step that I should take ? whom should I contact so that my refunds can be received ? all my colleagues who filed returns with me have got their refunds. they all took the help of a CA firm to file the returns.

Can someone guide me as to the necessary steps to be taken?

Dear Sarah To get the refund, you should regularly follow up with the Income tax department. As a CA will interact with the ITO's he can get you refund as soon as possible. So you better approach a CA or if you can manage your self to go to IT office you, you can follow up with the department. Chaitanya

You may try filing a petition under right to information act to know the status of returns and refunds and reasons for delay........it will activate the department

I have filed my last FY07 return by July 31st '07. I am working with Infosys BPO ltd. I am not yet in receipt of refund of approx Rs. 30000.0 Kindly guide the procedure for getting refund at the earliest. Do my organisation play any role in getting refund from IT, department? rgds Piyush Mohan
