Help about refund order cheque

hello,

 

one of our client has received a cheque of refund late. as cheque is valid for 3 months from the date of issue but my cline has received the cheque after the three months left from the date of issue.

his return is filled manually, but cheque has been received under cpc system, of sbi only.

pls give me right direction what to do in case..?

is it written in cheque that it is valid for 3 months only???

Becoz otherwise cheque is valid for six months from the date of issue..

 

yes bhavin , it is return in cheque , that it is valid for 3 months only.. , 

state bank of india bombay sent refund cheque by speed post but post office person did not deliver to the person and noted delivered in the income tax server.

After three months, on  Income Tax  server it is written that cheque is not expired.

but they dont sending any refund inspite of cheque date expired.

what should be done to receive this refund cheque.

visit your ITO with refund cheque and seek his assistance, he will advise you to submit the cheque with revalidation request, and will lodge the prob at online system, after that he will forward the cheque to CPC for cancellation, 

after this process, CPC will instruct SBI to issue duplicate cheque, please preserve the copy of cheque and communication for your records.
