Hello, I want to know Private HEALTH INSURANCE Can be CLAIMED BY WIFE but paid by the husband.
Wife is working in govt job. She has free health insurance with job as well.
Please share.
Only wife will claim a deduction in 80D
the husband doesn't need a deduction only pays the premium every year.
If it is gets reflected (by any means) in form 16 of wife, she can claim.
NO it's not reflating in wife form 16
because it's private health issuance. why it will show in Form 16
Wife has to submit Form 12BB to DDO to claim such deductions. Then it is the responsibility of the employer to deduct TDS accordingly. All such claims will get reflected in form 16 of the employee.

Now a days CPC is not accepting any claim without confirmation, when the deduction is not reflected in form 16.
You may claim now and follow up the query... you may succeed.
