Has GMCS Residential course been made mandatory by institute
Dear friends, i have appeared for c.a(final old) 2nd grp and waiting for results. As This is my 4th attempt as i have cleared 1st grp in may 2010. So expecting postive results. Meanwhile i went to c.a sirc office at chennai regarding my gmcs enrollment. But they said to me that they have closed batches for 15 days gmcs course and from jan 2011 GMCS Residential course is mandatory for membership of ICAI apart from passing final exams. And fees for 45 days residential course fixed around Rs.30,000/-. Please inquire through your nearest chapter and let me know if in around your city in icai office GMCS 15 days course is going on.
Your help would be worthwhile and be appreciable.

i also heard about ICAI likely to make 6 weeks compulsory. In many places they are not encouraging 15 days programme. No official announcements yet. But lets hope ICAI changes everything one fine morning. Thats their style.
