You are standing next to a well, and you have two jugs. One jug has a content of 3 litres and the other one has a content of 5 litres.

Question: How can you get just 4 litres of water using only these two jugs?

Very simple.

Take the 3 litre jug. Fill it with water. Pour the 3 litre jug water into 5 litre jug. Once again take water in 3 litre jug. Pour it into 5 litre jug. Already, it has been filled with 3 litre. Its total capacity is 5 litres. so now it can accomodate only 2 litres.

Balance 1 litre you will have in the 3 litre jug. Remove the water from 5 litre jug. I mean empty it. Then pour the 1 litre water in 3 litre jug into 5 litre jug. Take water once again in 3 litre jug. pour it into 5 litre jug. You will get exactly 4 litres.
