Guidance for pursuing ca

Hi all,

I am software engineer in Big MNC and i want to pursue CA in order to change my profession. I do not have a commerce backround at all as i have done BE in electronics and communications. Can anyone please tell me if I am eligible to take up CA course with a BE background. If so can you also please guide me by telling what all are the procedures to get into CA course.

I find it more suitable to do a ME than struggle for 4 yrs..results in ca are unexpected..not demotivating you..just bringing out the facts...there are engg who are CA's today...one more suggestion..why dont u go for MBA finance frm a good institute..that will suffice

nothing is impossible . Even i took science in pu..later changed and am in final today. But for u, 1st u need to learn accounts basic things..plus u have to sacrifice 3.5 yrs for articleshp training for smal amt of stipend. R u ready for althese?

and 1st read prospectus. U get softcopy at icai.org > students > CA course. There are 3 stages cpt exam, ipcc and final. 1st see the details then take 1 final decision..once u choose this field then final result shud be positive bcoz u should nt loose years.

if any1 joins ca after passing degree course then can join directly to ipcc and for articleshp. Read brochure carefuly . Later let me knw if u have any doubts.

Yes you can join but don't leave the job until you clear ca.

Rajeev...how do u complete ca without articleship...and how u serve articleship without giving up ur job?

U are already a graduate. U dont need to qualify cpt. There is a direct entry scheme for u. U are eligible to give the IPCC(intermediate) exams. But fo this, u must take coachings for each subject so as to build base for every subject. And yes, that won't be easy. But if u r well determined

I also done b tech in ece nikhil and she can serve articleship hours in eveng too, for this there is mutual understanding needed between principal and you.

Dont leave your job unless you clear finals but you should first go through basic accountancy and if you feels that it is interesting then thumbs up to it!
