Dear frds/ experts,
One of our client is a pvt ltd company having turnover less than 1.5 crores during last 2 years.
Is it compulsory to file them GSTR-9 RETURN ?
Plz kindly advice me as soon as possible. Earliest reply would be greatly appreciated.

GSTR 9 must be filed by regular registered, taxpayers who file GSTR 1 and GSTR 3B.
So ,The aggregate turnover of your business should be greater than 40 lakh rupees to file GSTR 1 and GSTR 3B.
Accordingly , in this case ,if the Company’s Turnover is less than 1.5 crore then he is required to file GSTR 9 as turnover in a Financial year exceed the 40 lk limit
So for Both Financial year ,GSTR-9 is required to be filed .
"Filing of Annual Return has been made "OPTIONAL" for Registered Person whose Aggregate Turnover does not exceeds Rs. 2 core for FY 2017-18."
Then what does it mean Sir👆?? Its very confusing....whether we they have to file gstr 9 or not???

It is better to file your annual return by the due date so as to avoid best of judgment assessment by GST authorities in future. In fact annual return is the only chance for you to declare correctly all your sales and ITC for that period and discharge short liability fi any.
That means, it is OPTIONAL.....but if we file it within due date, it will be beneficial in future.....Right Sir??
