If I am selling books online that are exempted under GST, would I still be required to file monthly returns to GST?

no. whenever you're turnover exceed 20 L you have to file gst return
If you are exclusively dealing with exempted good then no need to take registration.
I will need to take registration for e-commerce sale. However would I be need to file monthly returns despite dealing in exempted goods?

Once you take registration then you will be treated a normal entrity and all the rules will apply

I will have to file monthly returns but won't have to pay tax since I am selling exempted items. Isn't that right?

I also want to know that is it true that my supplier of books should also have GST? I will need to mention it in returns. Someone told me this on Twitter.

If your supplier is registered, then he will file his outward supply and it will be shown in your return 2.  You dont have to upload, it will be system generated

What if he isn't registered for GST. Will that create any problem for me?

NO problem. you dont need to show any purchase in return

Basically I just provide information of online sale in returns?
