Gst registration for pvt ltd. co with 9lacs turnover

Dear Learned Members

My query is regarding registration under GST. We run a Private limited firm with a turnover of less than 10 lacs annually for the last couple of years. Our registered office is in the state of Jharkhand. As a firm which is into consulting, training etc, we applied for Service Tax from Delhi and currently most of our work is spread across India, as in we provide on-site solutions to companies not just in Delhi.

I want to know if we have to apply for GST considering our annual turnover which is not more than 10 lacs and may not increase for the next 2 years atleast. If we need to apply then considering that most of our work is spread across different states, then from which state do we need to apply for GST registration.

As you are already registered under service tax, you will be compulsorily migrated into GST once it becomes effective and you will be provided a provisional ID. You will have to be registered under GST as you provide inter state supplies (regardless of turnover). You need to get registered from where you provide services i.e JHARKHAND which is your place of supply.

Thank You for your reply. Our place of supply is Pan India. We most deliver our service on site which could be anywhere in India. In that case, from where do we apply for provisional id considering our turnover does not cross 20 lacs annually.

In gst what matters is the place (state) from where you provide services, you need to register from that state. You have to take separate registration (with common PAN) in Jharkhand, Delhi and each of such state where you provide on site service. It is mandatory for a person to register irrespective of turnover if he makes a single INTER STATE SUPPLY of goods or services. Supply to pan India which becomes an interstate supply .
