Gst registration change
my partner is going abroad can i change gst registration from his name to my name.? or should i take new registration.?pls reply thanks in advance

You need to take new registration.....
If he is your partner then the GST registration should have been of the partnership. Why change registration since he can continue being the partner even if he is abroad. If he ceases to be a partner then you can add a partner and carry on the registration as it is. If you want to change it to proprietorship then you will have to take a new registration.
At any rate your query seems incomplete as to how he can be your partner if GST registration is under sole proprietorship
Actually it is a partnership firm but registration is taken as proprietorship.should i take new registration?pls reply
Did that partnership had a partnership deed and PAN?
GST registration is Pan based. if it is registered as propritership, then need to take separate registration
If your registration was as proprietorship then you need to take new registration and transfer the old business to newer one.
Apply for fresh registration because GST is PAN based.
