Further, for proprietorships business there is an option of validating return basis EVC code ( pan & afshar basis) and dsc basis.
so dsc is optional in this case.

No need DSC for proprietorship business if he have AADHAAR number with Mobile number added in AADHAAR.

For purposes of registration under GST your annual turnover must be more than 20 lakhs. The documents required are as follows: -
a. PAN Card
b. 2 passport size photos of the proprietors
c. Aadhar Card
d. Proof of business
e. Bank statement copy
The GST registration can be done easily online at the GST portal and the GST number is received in a few days after submission of application. The digital signature is compulsory for enrolment by Companies, Limited Liability Partnership (LLPs) , Foreign Companies, Foreign Limited Liability Partnership (FLLPs) for other taxpayers, it is optional.
