Yes it is necessary to have knowledge of Income Tax while practicing GST .
I will give you one example , As per notification 12/2017 dated 28/6/2017 , service by an entity registered under section 12AA of. Income Tax act 1961 by way Charitable activities are exempt for intra -state .
